PRODUCT RANGE

The Energy Company’s Product Range Includes:

TEC supplies fit-for-purpose heating fuels typically used in boilers, kilns and furnaces. These applications can be founded in a myriad of industrial business segments. Often our clients are looking for simple solutions for their equipment where consistent quality fuels coupled to reliable and technical services are most important.

TEC LIGHT BOILER FUEL

Origin:

TEC LBF is a special blend used in a special blend of various low-Sulphur refinery components blended to complete with typical OEM recommended boiler and furnace fuels like kerosene and diesel.

Application:

TEC LBF is extensively used in small boilers, thermal oil heaters and burners where low viscosity is important and no pre-heating for atomization is required. TEC LBF is a cost-effective and low-Sulphur fuel comparable in energy value to most recommended boiler fuels.

HFO 150 AND 180

Origin:

Heavy Furnace Fuel HFO is an industry standard fuel that comes in two viscosities and is manufactured at a major oil refinery.

Application:

Normal applications for HFO are for those that are not sensitive to ash content and it is used in large boilers, kilns and as a start-up fuel in power generation. This fuel must be pre-heated for atomization and combustion and in applications where nozzle-clogging is prevalent.

TEC stocks a wide range of solvents from a number of Oil Chemical suppliers. These solvents are used in the metallurgical industries for liquid extraction of copper and uranium and the formation of degreasing fluids for mining applications. Other applications include the explosive markets where high flash point aliphatic solvents are required, and in the manufacture of polishes and waxes for domestic purposes.

FLUIDEN 1528

Fluiden 1582 is a wide cut aliphatic solvent used in paints and polishes where a slow drying rate is required. Due to a slower rate of evaporation it offers some advantages over Fluiden 1520 in cleaning an general solvent usage.

FLUIDEN 1926

Fluiden 1926 is a high-flash kerosene with characteristics similar to Fluiden 1528 and is used as a replacement for FLuiden1528 in applications where a high flash point is required. Most significantly it is used as a solvent in metallurgical applications such as the liquid/liquid extraction of copper and uranium, and in the formulation of degreasing fluids or mining application. Fluiden 1926 complies with the Chamber of Mines flash point requirements for solvents used underground.

SHELLSOL 2325

Shellsol 2325 is a wide cut mixture of paraffin, cycloparaffin and aromatics that boils between 220 and 250°C. As a result of its increased boiling range level Shellsol 2325 is considered a high flash, slow-evaporating type of hydrocarbon solvent.

AH 1925 SOLVENT

AH1925 is a narrow cut solvent used in a wide range of applications including copper solvent extraction, as a diluent and in industrial polishes. Typical characteristics include high flash point and low aromatics.

SSX 210

SSX 210 is a dearomatized High Flash Mining Solvent predominantly used in Copper Extraction in Zambia and DRC.

Farol 250

Farol 250 is an aromatic diluent used predominantly in Copper Extraction in Zambia and DRC. Due to its high flash point, this product is considered one of the safest diluents on the market.

DIESEL 50PPM

Diesel 50ppm is a high quality automotive diesel engine fuel, containing less than 0.005% of sulphur, by mass. These low sulphur levels enable the product to be compatible with emission control devices such as catalytic converters and diesel particulate traps designed to operate a this low sulphur level.

Diesel 50ppm is formulated by using intelligent additive fuel technology that has the potential to maintain diesel engines at their peak design conditions. It also satisfies the demand for improved fuel economy, extended drain intervals and fuel system protection.

Continuous use improves fuel system and injector cleanliness, which contribute to increasing equipment life, restoring and maintaining power and performance while simultaneously reducing exhaust emissions.

Diesel 50ppm contains anti-foam components, which reduce the tendency of foaming normally associated with standard diesel, and provides for spill free, cleaner, faster and more efficient refuelling, keeping vehicle and equipment working for longer periods.

DIESEL 500PPM

Diesel 500ppm is an advanced performance fuel, that complies with the SANS 342 (2006) specification, 500ppm (mg/kg) sulphur content distillate fuel. Diesel 500ppm has been formulated to include an exclusive additive package that enhances the characteristics of the fuel and is designed to deliver a unique combination of enhanced engine performance and reduced exhaust emissions.

ILLUMINATING PARAFFIN (IP SASOL)

Sasol IP is a highly refined, middle distillate, hydrocarbon fuel formulated for clean burning, with minimum charring of the wick and optimum performance. It is intended for use in IP stoves, heaters and lamps. Furthermore the product can be used in IP refrigerators and incubators, along with industrial solvents and other processes.

KEROSENE

Kerosene is obtained during the petroleum refining process where it results from drawing off a cut during distillation, with an initial boiling point (IBP) between 150 and 180°C and a final boiling point (FBP) between 225 and 250°C, which must be sulphur-free.

Kerosene is mainly used in the production of aviation fuels (turbojets and turboprops and is also the main component of additives for cars (injector cleaning, etc.)

JET A1

This kerosene-based product has a maximum distillation temperature of 400°F at the 10% recovery point and a final maximum boiling point of 572°F. It meets ASTM Specification D1655 and Military Specifications MIL-T-5624P and MIL-T-83133D (Grades JP-5 and JP-8).

Jet A1 is used for commercial and military turbojet aircraft engines.
